Can Creativity be taught?
I look at my subject matter classes and think how can I encourage creativity on a daily basis. What has helped me is for me to be creative and understand my struggles and think of the possibilities that can come up during class time. Thinking outside the box and encouraging my students to do the same is something I need to have a firmer grasp on. The old school way of learning and teaching has been to teach a test, or have students memorize dates, times, people, and ideas. Luckily, today we are making that switch in many different ways. Whether that is with technology, or with the way we approach our teaching practices with flipped classrooms. Now, we can really utilize they classroom instructional minutes and we need those minutes to meaningful to our students. I found Lois R. Mobley’s six insights to be very interesting and inspiring. Coming with the approach to ask questions and not just provide the answers for students, this is something every adult in their life should remember. Mobley’s second point is to encourage people to think about things in a way they had not yet considered.
His third point is that we need to experience our learning. People do not just become what they want to be from reading a textbook about it. In the fourth point Mobley explains the importance of stepping out of our comfort zones even if it means spending time with people who may know more. Self reflecting is also so important and that has been something I have been doing everyday. I always think how can I better my teaching and myself as a teacher.

Sebastian Seung: I am my connectome
It is important to keep making mental connections and continue to grow our mindful activities.
John Seeley Brown: A new culture of learning
Education, technology, content and context are rapidly changing. Always be flexible when it comes to technology.
Howard Gardner: Five minds of the future
The ethical choices that younger people are making seem to have changed from those of the past. It's interesting with my perspective of being really young in this field and working with a more seasoned veteran teacher staff.
Sir Ken Robinson: Do schools kill creativity?
Students and teachers alike should be prepared to be wrong. I always tell my students that its okay to be wrong, however, with this population they hate to be wrong. So no matter how many times I would say this to my students they still struggle. It is all about the approach.
Daniel Pink
The learning process is more meaningful when people are intrinsically motivated to teach and learn.
