My topic is BYOD. So I decided to use those letters inside my logo. The many research I have to back up with my parents and community all have to do with BYOD. But I thought that just the letters would be too boring and someone would say something about that. So I decided then again, to make it about where this logo is coming from, and that is me.
What represents me? Well, I have always had an amazing connection with the sun. This might be because my ancestry belongs to the Sun. Plus, I am a science teacher and I always have to refer to the sun. I also meditate with my mom and the symbol of the Sun represents so much. A new day, the break from darkness, new possibilities come from when the Sun makes its appearance.
With that being said, I wanted the O in BYOD to be the Sun. This to me, means that we are starting from scratch when it comes to BYOD, and bringing it into a hesitant community and a district that has no foundational structure for a BYOD. And let me tell you, if you don't introduce a BYOD to a community correctly, it can be super ugly. Trust me, I saw it with my own eyes my first year teaching. The ugliness that came from the introduction then trickled down to the teachers who are on the front lines, and I just wanted to make sure that since this was a new year approaching that everyone can think of devices in the classroom is a new, bright, day/year for endless possibilities.
